Joe: I was playing with the idea of how images are derived, you can usually see some object based image in an abstract painting. This time I allowed it to come forth because the content was very direct in this piece as opposed to indirect in most of the others.  In other words, the spaceman was always lingering around in the idea of the painting, he is just taking a figurative form. I like the bounce in the diptych, one informing the other instead of just two panels showing one picture.
